Intro to Roasting
A survey of roasting on a sample drum roaster
2 Hour Class. No experience necessary.
$250 per session.
This course introduces the novice/amateur roaster to roasting on a traditional directly-heated drum sample roaster. This intensive session will focus on two different coffees, and showcase the importance of development and what it does to the cup profile. By the end of the course, the student will be familiar with roasting using roast software, and the foundations of “Rate of Rise” and how it relates to development.

This course serves as an introductory session to the world of manual coffee brewing through the Hario V60. By the end of the course, students will be familiar with the systemic relation of brewing variables and how they affect the final cup profile. Students are also welcome to bring manual brewing devices of their choice.

Unraveling Espresso on the Decent DE1Pro.
2 Hour Class. $250 per session.
Decent Espresso's DE1Pro is revolutionizing our understanding of brewing dynamics through the espresso medium. This one-on-one course is designed for the amateur home-user/professional barista to get a better understanding of their craft by exploring espresso brewing through flow profiling, pressure profiling, and a mix of both. By the end of the course, students will be familiar with the operation of flow rate control through the espresso bed, and how it relates to the quality of extraction. This course is a must for any aspiring competition barista.
